van life

Is it the perfect way to travel full time?

A home on wheels might just be the perfect way to travel full time. It might even be more perfect for us because we live in Europe, we have access to so many countries and we can do it all from a tiny home.

Pulling back the curtains to reveal a different view each morning is addictive. To be able to have the freedom of a home on wheels and setting up wherever we want to be is incredibly liberating, not to mention the savings in living costs. We have now trialled van life on two different trips in Iceland and Scotland and we loved every minute of it. We have a few big van life projects coming up 2020 before potentially moving into a van for the whole year of 2021.

In 2020 we will be exploring the best beaches in the UK from Cornwall to Scotland using a Bailey of Bristol Motorhome. With the current on going Covid-19 pandemic our plans have been delayed for several months. Finally though our plans are starting to come together and we can't wait to hit the road in a couple of weeks and head off with our two cats Tia and Skye and watch the sunset over beaches again.

Covid-19 brings a fresh perspective to van life. With social distancing rules set to last for a long time and other means of transport and accommodation constantly under review a van sounds more perfect everyday. We are self isolated in our van, we are socially distanced and we can sleep and cater for ourselves. We have also seen an increase on social media of people converting and buying vans for the exact same reason. Exploring our own backyards might be the thing to do over the next year or two before normal international travel resumes.

We are excited to get out exploring again and can’t wait to take you along with us. We will be updating our social media channels and website throughout our UK best beaches adventure, we can’t wait to show you what we find.
