Stay at the Wapa Di Ume Resort and Spa in Ubud, Bali

WAPA DI UME

We were super excited to get to Ubud and be surround by Balinese jungle. We had spent the previous three weeks moving along the coast of Bali and soaking up the sea air. Now we were ready to explore the waterfalls in the surrounding mountains.

We checked into Wapa Di Ume for a treat before moving closer to the centre of Ubud. When we arrived there were very few people actually staying at the resort and we had the luxury of lounging around the pool all by ourselves. The water was the typical turquoise colour they manage to achieve in Bali and was a refreshing break from the heat. The jungle views and sounds of the wildlife made it very relaxing to lie by the pool. There is a larger tier pool which we never actually used as we preferred the views from the restaurant pool.

We walked around the resort which was surrounded by rice fields on one side and jungle on the other. The numerous water features and view points created a serene atmosphere. We signed up for the complimentary yoga class the next morning. Hannah has done yoga before but I hadn’t and was I excited to see what would happen.

We ordered some food to the room and ate from our balcony overlooking the rice fields. We watched the beautiful sunset from our massive bath tub which also had the same view. The bath was as big as a hot tub and we both jumped in watching the sky light up through the glass wall. The rooms were beautiful decorated but if you wanted more space you can book a room or a villa with your own private pool.

We loved the relaxed vibe around the place and soon jumped into the massive bed and fell asleep. The next morning we woke to a beautiful day, We put on our sportswear and headed to our yoga class. After an hour of bending myself into shapes I never though existed I was more than ready for breakfast. We walked to the main pool where breakfast was being served. The food was good and refreshing and the staff were friendly and fun to be around.

We loved our time at Wapa Di Ume and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Ubud and wanting to stay a little outside of town. It is not the cheapest option but the resort felt very well managed and even if it was fully booked there was plenty of space as to not feel overcrowded. This was definitely more of a couples resort despite there being family rooms available.
