Discover ENGLAND

Our home country is known for the Queen, Fish and Chips and the iconic Big Ben. While most visitors only visit London, much of England is often overlooked and has so much more to offer than many realise including its iconic National Parks.

England is home to 10 out of the 15 National Parks in the UK. These protected wild spaces have beautiful landscapes and many inspired literary writers in the Peak District and Lake District. One of England’s last wild spaces is Dartmoor, home to free-roaming ponies and Bronze Age settlements. Lesser known spots include Exmoor and the great wilderness of Northumberland, a land of castles and beautiful villages.

You might be surprised to hear that on the Southwest coast of Cornwall, you can find beautiful sandy beaches with crystal-clear waters. It’s somewhere we return to again and again, with discoveries each time. Cornwall has great surf, coastal walks, a scenic outdoor theatre and geological wonders. It also makes an epic road trip with a great choice of things to do along the way. We can’t mention Cornwall without sharing one of our favourites and in our opinion one of the best beaches, Pedn Vounder. If you’re looking for a complete guide to Cornwall, read our 10-day guide including a map to plan your trip.

Visiting botanical gardens is one of our favourite ways to spend the weekends, whether it’s spending the day at the impressive Kew Gardens or a day exploring the groundbreaking Eden Project.
