WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT ANOTHER PLACE HOTEL?

Throughout the year, there are a variety of activities and reasons to visit across the seasons in the Lake District. In Autumn, you’ll be treated to warm Autumn colours and fewer crowds if you can avoid school half term.

If you’re interested in great Autumn photography locations we’ve written about some of our favourites here (link).

In winter, the ground is covered in frosty carpets and a dusting of snow on top of the fells where the magic of winter is shown in true force in the Lakes.

Warmer temperatures are welcomed by spring where flowers burst into bloom. You’ll also usually find the Keswick Mountain Festival in May which includes talks, guided activities and competitive events.

Perhaps the busiest time of year is summer but for a reason; with the best chance of great walking conditions and no excuse not to jump in for a dip in one of the many lakes! Summer is usually when the Great North Swim at Windermere takes place which is the largest open water swimming event in the UK.

There are Meteor showers throughout most of the year so why not go on a full moon night swim with Another Place hotels resident swim leader Collin. We would highly recommend this experience, it’s one you won’t regret or forget!

WHAT ARE THE ROOMS LIKE AT ANOTHER PLACE HOTEL?

The hotel is made up of 40 rooms with the majority benefiting from views of Ullswater lake, these range from family suites, standard rooms and the best rooms such as the Joules suite (which we would recommend!) and Willow cottage which was recently designed by Lynsey Ford the winner of Interior Design Masters.

In 2022, Another Place created a unique experience to get closer to nature by staying outdoors in either their shepherd huts with a beautiful ceiling window perfect for stargazing or an elegant, stunning treehouse set within oak trees with an outdoor bath. These places are an exciting addition at Another Place hotel, allowing you to immerse yourself in nature whilst staying in the Lake District.

Shepherds Huts

The Shepherds huts are available for couples and families, the family huts have bunk beds whereas the couple huts have a double bed and an indoor bathtub.

Each hut comes with an outdoor fire pit, a small kitchenette with kettle, flask, outdoor lamp, bathroom (toilet and shower), seating area, log burner, cupboard for storage and cosy blankets.

Treehouse

The treehouse is in a peaceful setting, surrounded by charming oak trees and with views across Ullswater lake and Broom Hill. The house is elevated above the ground and connected by a private walkway creating suspense before you enter an oasis of calm.

As you enter the treehouse you have a hallway with a small kitchenette, bathroom (bathtub, toilet and shower), 2x double beds and a large lounge area with log burner, tv, wardrobe space and a large deck with an outdoor bathtub, chairs and benches.

Designed by Matt Hulme, the space is spectacular, with a warm, cosy feel inspired by natural elements and angled to guide your eyes to the outside vistas.
